YAMAHA SB600 has arrived.

This is a very attractive vintage bass, strongly imbued with the originality and practicality typical of 1970s YAMAHA. While based on the JB type, it is a single instrument packed with "Yamaha-ness" that goes beyond a mere copy.

Firstly, the impressive 9-point bridge, unique to Yamaha and changed from the SB500. This bridge with its distinctive structure not only has a visual impact but also contributes to the firm transmission of string vibrations and stability, making it a characteristic point that reflects the development philosophy of 70s Yamaha.

In terms of sound, while possessing the quick attack and definition typical of a JB type, it also has a somewhat thick and calm mid-low range that is impressive. The combination of nato body and maple fingerboard creates a good balance between attack and sustain, resulting in a versatile sound that is easy to handle for everything from rock to vocal-oriented music and funk.

The Sun Burst color also has a great vibe, and you can really feel the vintage渋さ (shibusa / understated elegance) that includes the effects of aging. It has a convincing quality that comes from being an "instrument played for a long time," different from modern pristine beauty.

Furthermore, the playability around the neck is also good, making it a vintage bass that is practical and easy to handle. The weight of 3.96kg is not extremely heavy, making for a well-balanced handling.

There are some dents and scratches here and there, but there are no major issues with playability, and overall it has a good vintage feel. It is also highly recommended for those who want to enjoy an atmosphere that new instruments don't have.
